Novels[]
The Digimon Adventures Novel series retell the series but with serval plot changes, one of these being Piximon's involvement. In the novels it takes much longer for Tai Kamiya to recover from his depression after the SkullGreymon incident with him being passive and not getting involved in fights. The events of "The Piximon Cometh" are skipped over and never happen with Piximon only appearing during the Datamon episodes where he offers Tai training during the Rescuing of Sora, telling Tai that time doesn't past in his training ground.
Tai's training involves the same past memory of Tai trying to learn to ride his bike but in this verion when Agumon asks if they should help out, Tai says that he's not a quitter. This taught Tai the lession he needed to fix his depression and leads to his crest activating and MetalGreymon flying out of Piximon's training ground and joining the battle.
